All About Mrs. Harms

My name is Mrs. Harms, and I am the Early Reading Interventionist at Freiheit Elementary. I am married to my husband, Travis and we have two kids. Cash is 7 and will be in second grade. Kennedy is 5 and will be in Kindergarten.

 

I began my teaching career in Sugar Land, TX. I taught first grade for 14 years. This is my 5th year as the Early Reading Interventionists and I have a real passion for reading and writing. I believe that early intervention is KEY!

What is Early Reading Intervention? 

Our intervention program is multi-sensory which incorporates visual,
auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile learning. Each session has components
such as phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle and phonics, sight words,
decoding, writing and spelling, reading fluency and comprehension.
